Rogue Island mark — ROGUE with Rhode Island as the O
Chapter One

In 1636, a man got kicked out of Massachusetts for thinking too freely.

So Roger Williams walked south through the dead of winter and founded Providence — a place where you could believe what you wanted, say what you meant, and live on your own terms.

That's not just history. That's the whole damn point.

For the breakers of rules and the inventors of new ones. Apparel for the people who think "there's a better way" and say: watch me.

Rhode Islanders who did it their way — and changed everything.

OG Rogue1636

Roger Williams

Founder · Theologian · Troublemaker

Exiled from Massachusetts for preaching religious tolerance. Responded by walking 105 miles through a blizzard to prove a point — and founded America's first experiment in liberty of conscience.

First Mover1772

The Gaspee Raiders

Merchants · Patriots · Arsonists

A year before the Boston Tea Party, Providence merchants rowed out at midnight and burned a British revenue schooner. The first overt act of active defiance against the Crown.

Trailblazer1790

Samuel Slater

Industrialist · Spy · Father of American Industry

Memorized British textile mill plans, emigrated, and launched the American Industrial Revolution in Pawtucket. Britain called him a traitor. Americans called him a genius.

Rule Breaker1638

Anne Hutchinson

Theologian · Midwife · Alleged Heretic

Tried in Massachusetts for leading unauthorized Bible studies as a woman. Settled in Portsmouth, RI. A century before it was even arguable. That's rogue.

Game ChangerModern

Lincoln Chafee

Senator · Governor · Independent

The only Republican senator to vote against the Iraq War. Left the party, became a Democrat, then an Independent. Rhode Island elected him governor anyway. Thinking for yourself is the whole point.
